Meet Selah Sue. Lovely looking, incredible voice plus strong stories.
Her first album Selah Sue, has been played a thousand times on my iPod. Lately I was very curious about her releases because it took her a couple of years to prepare new great beats.
Some months ago, I saw her appearing in a Belgian talk show and was dazzled by her openness. She talked about her new album Reason and where she took her inspiration from.
Telling about a depression ain't easy, but she managed to do it in front of all those people watching right from their couches. At that point, she became a true source of inspiration for me.
At the festival I attended in June (read here and here) she performed her new songs and that concert was long before planned in my imaginary agenda.* When my friend and I arrived the tent was almost entirely filled. We surely didn't want to miss it and even though everyone was already soaking in sweat, made our way through the crowd. Standing between random people, we sang like our voices should never be used again after the concert and danced for our lives. It was a really great show.
*paper agenda's are not my thing. The first two weeks I try to fill in every possible event that comes up in my head and afterwards I lose the stupid book so all this work was for nothing.
Number of tries: 4
What's your opinion about her new album?
Do you like the sound of her voice?
Reunions, life is full of them for the moment. Vacation is almost over and our clique of friends is getting closer than ever. Last night was really great and I think it's awesome that we can prove the world that secondary school friendships can last. After all, most youngsters start seeing only new people and forget about everyone else.
Talking about our clique, I have something incredible to announce: tomorrow morning we'll be leaving. But wait, we'll be leaving with 18 friends and are headed to Croatia!
Traveling with such a huge group will definitely be challenging, but oh so great.
We won't be staying at one single place but instead we'll be making a small tour from south to north.
I'm extremely looking forward to visit the Plitvice National Park. I heard so many fantastic things about it and to be honest: these pictures don't lie.

Pula and Zadar will also be discovered by us. I've been in Zadar before and I must admit that it was quite impressive. Almost fully surrounded by water, this picturesque city has a lot to offer.

Zadar source: omega-grupa.hr
Seems awesome, right?
The fact that I'm going with all these friends feels extremely good, I can't wait!
Have you ever been in Croatia?
If so, do you have any tips for me or cool spots to share?
I discovered this band Glass Animals a couple of days ago. It's quite a shame I didn't know them any longer, they're incredibly awesome.
This clip is full of inspiration, especially for dancers like me. The way they move is so subtle and perfect at the same time. My ultimate goal.
It's Friday again, weekend is almost there. Luckily, I have still vacation until the 21st and there are a lot of cool things planned these two last weeks. Two evening parties and one big family BBQ are taking place this evening and tomorrow and last but not least: Monday morning I'll be leaving. Croatia is waiting to be discovered a little more.
What are your weekend plans? Do you still have vacation?
I have to admit something. Prepare for the worst, people usually feel very disappointed after I tell them this. It's stronger than myself and I feel like you should know this about me. After all you read a lot about my life and this detail is too important to ignore. Try not to be extremely mad at me, you don't know how hard I've been trying to change. I'm working on this bad part of me and seeking help from friends, but now the time has come to reveal it all and to find some great advice from your side. Dear readers - damn it's hard to tell - , I suck at movies.
Yes, you read it very well. I've never seen any James Bond film and I don't know a thing about Superman. Mission Impossible is possibly great, but just like The Godfather and Pulp Fiction it's content remains a complete mystery. I barely know what this special ring means to Gandalf and Frodo and even the praised Into The Wild hasn't received my attention so far.
You should know that I'm deeply ashamed, but I just cannot declare my disinterest in films. That's why I decided to change this and to extend my movie knowledge.
A friend of mine helped me out and listed some of his favorites.
I'm going to finish this list and perhaps my opinion about movies will be different afterwards.
What about you, do you like watching movies?
Have you seen some of those on my list?
Are there any film recommendations?
I would love to hear them from you then.
It's been a while since I wrote something over here and I honestly don't know where to start.
August has been great so far, really great. I've met new people, reunited with old friends and learned so much about all kinds of things. I discovered who I truly am - cliché, but it's the way it is - and realized what sort of energy I want to spread towards others. So many memories remain and these will stay forever on my mind and I already miss every single part of it.
I was also able to destroy a Nokia phone (I thought you were immortal, dear Nokia) and to give some children awesome entertainment while having a good time myself. My sleep was no longer priority, but hey: who cares if you're having the best time ever?
Big decisions were made and life made sure again that some things are not controllable. I quit my dance class at home because the traveling was giving me too much stress in comparison with the joy. Even though I'm looking for a great class in the city where I study, it kind of hurts to leave the dance school where I spent so many years and made a bunch of friends.
August 25 is quite an impactful day for me. A year ago I earned my driver's license, which I'm very proud of. On the other hand, it's been exactly six years now since my dad passed away. It's incredible how time flies. I can feel that I'm slowly accepting all things that happened but it sucks that day by day the memory of him fades away a bit further.
People say that vacation is perfect to get some rest and to sleep a lot. I really try this every time again, but it just doesn't seem work in my case.
Last five nights, I slept in five (!!) different beds due to parties, boyfriend time and visiting friends. Counting the hours, I didn't sleep less than I normally do. The change was kind of exhausting me more and more every day.
I'm looking forward to crawling into my own bed this evening, after a tiring workout at Crossfit later today.
Before you read further: push play.
As told, I have been living in the moment last weeks. I'm feeling kind of tired now, but also extremely satisfied. I met a lot of friends again, was able to do much more fun things than I thought I could and still completely chilled out sometimes.
A strange feeling occurred to me last week. I felt like I didn't need any more clothes for the moment. This is just weeeeird because I only bought 3 cheap pieces of clothing during the past 3 months and especially because I was in a huge shoppingcenter with a friend of mine.
I wasn't looking for anything special, until my eye fell on these pretty babies.
How special are they? I really love the effect when one half is in front and the other is at the back of my ear. Elephants are just extremely cool animals too, so this pair of earrings is perfect!
I never tried earrings like this before. One disadvantage is that they fall off more easily. Wednesday I took the tram at our seaside to travel for almost two hours. When I got in, I had a hard time taking off my backpack and handbag and sadly one earring fell under the seat in front of me.
One detail: it was really crowded so there was a granny sitting at that exact place. Each time the person in front of me left, another came immediately to replace their seat.
I waited for like two hours, hoping I would still find it. Luckily, it was just laying there (in between a lot of dirt, but still). So one thing: watch out while wearing these kind of earrings.
This is one of the outfits I wore last week, including my new sneakers (read here).
Right now I have to prepare for my Crossfit class, I'm ready to sweat.
I just came home from a 3-day trip to Liège to my former exchange student Béné. Even though I hadn't spoken French for a year or something, after these days I still convert all my thoughts to French, help!
More about the trip later, but I can already tell you that we did some shopping - in chill mode, but still - and that I made a great deal in the sales: new Reeboks in town!
A long time ago I wrote (here) about how I was thinking about buying new sneakers. Sadly I wasn't able to purchase a pair of dark yellow Adidas Supercolors and the other pair was not that cool when I saw it in real life.
My dark green Reeboks, which I bought during winter sales, are a bit worn out because I've used them practically every day ever since.
I was thus searching another pair in Liège and - thanks to the honest opinion of Béné - have found the perfect one. The colors are lighter than my other pair and it's perfect for summer.

Then why the picture of a desert at the top? Desert Vibe is the name they gave this shoe, little trigger over there.
If you're interested, you can buy them here on Asos. I bought them in this store Take-Off, there they were even cheaper.
I really love wearing sneakers, but it's best to buy them during the sales. I've got the same quality for half the price and in my opinion, sneakers cannot go out of style just because everyone likes different kinds of them.
There's also a fun fact that Béné noticed about me: if everyone likes something, I hate it and if no one likes something, I'm totally into it.
I thought about it and it's completely true. Right now there aren't much people I know who wear Reeboks, so I love them even more.
What about you, do you like wearing sneakers? And do you also love things more if not everyone else is into it?
As promised, the second (and last) part of the reviews of bands I've seen at Rock Werchter.
I received a lot of great reactions about the first part and that's actually really nice to hear.
I've been a week off, grown a year older (19 yeah!!!) and made some friends of whom I'm sure that our friendship will last a lifetime.
Last week was pretty amazing and I'm still living a bit in a black hole for the moment. I'll tell you all about it later this week, so stay tuned!
So, Rock Werchter.
Patti Smith
This woman is a legend. She and her band came to perform their album Horses. My friends weren't enthusiast to come with me, so I stood there alone watching her when around me the average age had risen.
I honestly don't get why there weren't a lot of people of my age. This woman was so inspiring! Even at the age of 68 she caught all our attention and gave an awesome performance.
After the concert, I felt relieved. We are free, so said she.
Angus and Julia Stone
When I saw them before, their show was incredible but rather calm. I didn't really have the time to check out their new music and I was quite surprised. They kept their sweetness and showed again how great they both are as musicians, but also their songs have evolved a lot.
This was a great concert, I was perplexed again by how good they are at what they do.
Oscar and The Wolf
This Belgian group is just great. I saw them last year too, when most of my friends missed them because they were lazy at the camping. I haven't regret it for a second.
They weren't that famous back then so it was really cosy there.
During the year they have made a huge flight so this year the tent was really crowded. My friends left because it was too hot in there but I made my way through and enjoyed the show. It felt so great to be jumping all together and dancing like never before.
Alt-J
Just as Oscar and The Wolf, I discovered them a couple of years ago at Rock Werchter. I didn't know the songs at that time, but their show rocked.
As told before, there was the dilemma of choosing between first row Balthazar or first row Alt-J.
I found the equilibrium, thanks to all my friends who kept place in the middle of the tent when Alt-J was almost starting.
I had an incredible time there, words cannot describe it. My university friend came with me that day and we have the same (great, duh) taste for music. We were even able to sing along every single song they played and thanks to her the concert was even greater.
Kid Ink
Last but not least: Kid Ink.
We've danced like nobody was watching, it just felt so right. So lucky to have these crazy friends around me, they do these impulsive things with me some times and make me feel alive.
It was a cool show and I think everybody there was just happy during the concert.
This was my review of Rock Werchter 2015.
Which of these bands would you like to see some time?
Have you ever been to Rock Werchter?
Today's forecast: 34 degrees. It's been like this for a couple of days now and I'm so not used to it.
I still look like a hamster, because of Tuesday's surgery, so staying inside will be the best option for me.
Rock Werchter was moved one week ahead for some big headliners - Foo Fighters and Muse, yeah -
and after Dave Grohl and band cancelled, people were even more frustrated about it. There were people who missed a few days festival because of their exams.
Looking back afterwards, I'm glad it was a week earlier. I cannot imagine us sitting in our tents or watching bands at Main Stage with these temperatures. We already woke up sweating with 24 degrees.
As promised, I'll give you reviews of a selection of seen concerts.
Christine and the Queens
I don't know how she does it, but she gave the best performance I've ever seen. Her dance moves, her expressions, her weirdness... : it all perfectly fit together. Everyone was moving their asses, I had a really great time.
Balthazar
Yes, you've seen this name already quite a lot on my blog (here, here and here). I'm a super fan, so this concert was doomed to be great. At first I was really disappointed, because there were some timetable changes. I wanted to be front row for Balthazar, but, because Ben Howard cancelled, Balthazar overlapped a bit with Alt-J. I wanted to attend both concerts and to be in time at Alt-J, I had to slip away earlier so front row was no option.
Luckily me and my friend found a great place to watch and I enjoyed their show to the fullest. I get the best feeling in the world when I'm able to sing songs along with the artist, I feel united then.
I fell in love with their t-shirt collection, so I bought one.
Ibeyi
I didn't know what to expect, but these twins can create the best music! It was cool to watch how they react with each other. I love the fact that their name comes from Yoruba, a Nigerian language their ancients spoke, meaning 'twins'.
They are worth listening to.
Muse
Of course, Muse. It has been my biggest dream to watch them live. During some processes in my life, their music has supported and inspired me a lot. Their sound is phenomenal, no better word to describe it. I feel part of something bigger while hearing their songs.
I share my passion for the band with one of my best friends. When they were touring with their previous album, Muse stopped by two times in Belgium. Sadly enough it was both times during our exams so my friend and I were very disappointed that we couldn't go.
Watching Muse finally live next to him felt like the right place and time to make this dream come true.
The show was awesome, everything I expected from them. (Okay, maybe they should've played Resistance too, but no blaming.)
It was a great end to an even greater festival.
St. Paul and The Broken Bones
This band opened the festival and was in my opinion really nice. They had soul, showed that they had fun and made us dance. That's all I needed at that very moment.
They're not that famous, but still ruled the stage.
I talked about them before: here.
This was the first part of my review, more of this will follow later.
Have a great (hot) Saturday and enjoy the summer!
July 1st, summer has officially begun! Temperatures are quickly rising, a little tanning does no harm.
Sadly enough I had a surgery for my teeth yesterday, so I have to stay inside sleeping (and watching series, duh).
I've been off a while, because I decided to put my exams on top of my priority list. I went through a mentally quite hard time, but I made it luckily! I received my grades Monday and I can proudly say that I finished my first year at university in magna cum laude.
The end of my exams was celebrated in a great way. First I visited Antwerp again, led by my hometown friend there. We ended up at Ellis Gourmet Burger and damn, I ate the best burger ever. You really should try the Louis Cheese.
Later that evening, I took another friend of mine home and showed her around in my tiny village and city. It's a weird thing at university, because even if you have been hanging out together for a year, you don't know how your friends live. This will be solved during vacation, yay!
After some boyfriend quality time and a dance audition, it was time to leave for my favorite happening of the year: the Rock Werchter festival!
It was in my opinion the best edition I visited so far, thanks to the great music and the even greater company.
I'm planning on writing some reviews on the performances later this week, but - as usual - Balthazar really rocked the stage.
So right now it's really time to come out of my bunker. I've worked really really hard this year, right now three months of vacation are waiting for me. I'll be entertaining kids for four weeks and in september Croatia is my destination, together with eighteen friends but more on that later.
I also realized during the concerts how much music means to me. I used to play and write a lot of music a couple of years ago, but for some reason I forgot about that for a while. My ukulele and guitar really need some company so my focus will completely lay on music this summer. Together with a very talented friend I'll be playing some music in the streets of Antwerp and I'm very excited!
What does music mean to you? Is it something you listen to relax?
Weather changes so fast here in Belgium and since I'm isolated in my room in company of my books, I barely even know what day it is or how warm it will be.
Last Friday, the day of my first exam, it was extremely hot. I really wasn't prepared for that. While traveling home in my jeans and black shirt (wish I was wearing a white dress or something), the motor of my train broke so there was no airco.
Funny enough, I didn't really care about the things that went bad during that day. (Oh yes, I also missed my train... Time management is not my thing.) I just let everything go it's own way and that was a great spirit.
In the evening, I went to my first Cross Fit training ever. It was tough, extremely tough, but it gave me a boost. I was so motivated during that hour, did a lot of exercises that I actually hate (burpees are my enemy) and was exhausted, but it just felt so good afterwards. I think I've found the sport I was looking for. My legs and arms still hurt, but tomorrow is my second workout! Looking forward to it.
Today was BBQ day! My brother invited us at his home to use their new barbecue (gotta love house warming parties). I love being around my family, it feels really comfortable and warm.
Tuesday is my next exam. I don't know what to expect, but I'm hoping for the best. The most important thing for me is to make sure that I don't work too much. Still a few weeks to go, still a lot of energy to spend.
This song, Call Me, is great, please check it out.
Quite late and I'm tired, but throwing my thoughts on the World Wide Web is a great way to end the day. I just ran 7,3K (my longest run ever) and even though my head says that I can conquer the world, my body tells me: go to bed.
Another day has ended, with not much more than books in front of my nose. I'm getting used to it, but at the same time, my mind is already in summer modus.
This year, my favorite festival, Rock Werchter, is dated a week earlier than normally because of the tour agenda of some big bands. Advantage: Muse! Hell Yeah. Disadvantage: it is now immediately after our exams and for some of my friends even during their exams. Luckily mine end early, so I can be there from the start.
We have to plan a lot of things, because we're with a big group there and not all of us are at the camping all four days. When planning this, I cannot stop being excited about it. Being around your best friends listening to your favorite bands, what else can even be better?
To get in the mood, I decided to make a playlist for each festival day. Every week of my studying period, I'll make a new one, so in the end I have listened to all the artists. Great way to discover all the different musicians, right?
If you're going to the festival or you're interested in what artists will play there, please listen (and subscribe if you like) to this playlist.
Big times coming, exams are just a few weeks away now. Stress is showing a bit, hopefully I can keep myself as calm as I was previous semester. Tomorrow afternoon I have a family party to attend, this means some time to relax.
Cool light effect in the tent
Music is my remedy. It can bring so much joy and yet so much pain at the same time. The most indescribable feeling for me is standing in a big tent full of people who share my love for music. Being at festivals, listening to the artists who filled my lonely days, dried some tears and shared my happiness, is so extremely cool. I love seeing that these songs mean something for everyone around me.
I try to choose good ways to relax these weeks and yesterday the choice was clearly made. This weekend there's a (rather small, cheap) festival a couple of kilometers from my home, called Gladiolen. Two groups I like came to play there and I didn't hesitate to buy a ticket.
First was Willow, a great Belgian band. Not sure if you know them already, but they're worth Googling!
I love their music, it was fun listening.
Willow
After them came Dotan. I have been listening to his album for a really long time and I knew almost all the lyrics. It felt so great.
Quite cool to be standing so close to home in front of such a great singer.
While walking to the exit, I saw quite a lot of people in front of the t-shirt shop and I decided to go take a look. At first I didn't believe my eyes: Dotan was standing there, selling his own cds!
How great, I was already planning on buying the album, so why not receiving it out of his own hands with a personal message on it?? Luck was on my side.
My signed album by Dotan
I enjoyed last night, escaping the stress of life. Music is a savior.
For you all: have a great evening!
Love
PS: If you're watching Eurovision, vote for Belgium! We rock.
Life is chasing us. Whether we want it or not, it'll catch us. Escaping from ourselves is no option.
The only way to get back on track is fixing our hurt feelings, step by step by step by step by step by...
No better way than describe my thoughts from past weeks with the following quote.
Everyone’s got some baggage; it’s part of life. But like anything else, it’s easier when someone gives you a hand with it. - How I Met Your Mother
It may seem silly, that I become inspirational from watching my favorite (!!) TV-series.
This quote tells just the truth, even if it's not all visible all the time.
Some events happen and are spread out in the news and they can awake some feelings you would rather forget.
It can make you feel so miserable and make life seem so unfair. It's even hard to talk about with the ones you love.
Holding up a wall is not a great way to solve something like this. By keeping others out, it creates rather a boomerang effect and before you know it, you release all your anger at them.
Trying to let the person I love in, is harder than I thought. I realize that I really have to try 'cause it's the best for us both. He does want to help me every way he can, but accepting this help is the next step towards a more stable life.
It's been a while since I wrote something, I'm really sorry for that.
I have 'vacation' now. Not really relaxing actually, but studying and preparing for the exams within two months. Last night I visited a friend in Hasselt so I had some time to chill out. It was actually my first long drive since I have my driver's license and I immediately had to pass a lot of busy traffic. But that's how I should learn it, right?
The album Resistance of Muse is my favorite music to drive. I get a special feeling while listening to it. If you don't know it yet, you should definitely check it out. (And if you do know it, check it out again! )
It's quite hard for me to relax these days. I get the feeling that I should use all my time to study, even though that's not possible for any human being. I can be so hard on myself.
This is typically me. I'm quite smart but that also means that I overthink every little thing and that I'm really insecure about what I do. Brains... Heaven and hell, all at once.
Tomorrow I'll be going to the Belgian sea with my mom. We both love walking, sitting in the sun and reading some books while hearing the sound of the sea. I'm looking forward to it and hopefully I will be able to let all my school stuff go for a day.
I love sneakers, no, I adore them. Even if I'm planning on buying some sandals or heels, I automatically turn towards sneakers.
So easy to wear, so extremely comfy... Are there any disadvantages? :)
I try to be original, not to be mainstream. The fun part is, that I become very impulsive. If I see sneakers I like, I want it immediately. Today, this feeling came back. Sadly, my dream sneakers were sold out (as expected), so I'll have to wait a bit longer.
You probably have heard of Pharrell's awesome collaboration with Adidas? The original Adidas Superstar is already in my collection and damn, after a year my feet still feel like heaven while wearing them. I have been considering for a couple of weeks which color of the new collection I like the most and today me and my boyfriend simultaneously mentioned the same color, so I'm sure now.
As told, these babies are sold out in the webshop, but next week I'm going on a shopping trip with my mom and hopefully I'll find a pair.
There's also another pair that has been on my mind: these Reeboks.
Source: reebok.com
I'm currently wearing another pair of Reebok sneakers, in dark green, and they are great actually.
I love the graphic print and the fresh colors. Seems perfect for spring.
Oops, I thought I was sure about choosing for the Adidas, but right now I'm hesitating again...
Help me please!
Gosh what a day. I woke up with a fever and I have been in bed all day. It kind of sucks because I'm not home, so I had to care for myself. I slept a lot and watched some TV shows, but I get bored real quick.
I started working a bit for school (without any result, but still...) and started thinking about a new blog post: TA-DAA here it is.
Yesterday I kidnapped my boyfriend to help me choosing a new pair of sandals and luckily I stumbled upon the perfect pair! They are from Madden Girl, Steve Madden's little sister brand. I want to start wearing them right now but the Belgian weather won't let me. While waiting for the sun, I decided to look for a cool outfit with my sandals and that was my today's small project.
I extremely love blue and I think it's a nice color for me. I always seem attracted to baby blue clothes so no difference this time while scrolling through the Polyvore database.
Take a look.
As told, these floral sandals are my new babies. I'm so happy!
I also really love this handbag.
What do you think?
Is this something you would wear?
It's almost 3:00 AM or something and I should probably go to sleep, but not before telling you about my awesome night!
As told, I have very busy weeks with a lot of fun things but also hard work to do.
Today was the release of the new album of the Belgian band Balthazar and the best part: just 50 meters away from my bed. That's really the coolest part of university, living in a big city. We went there more than an hour before the band started and still there was already a big (chaotic) row waiting in front of the cafe. We took a shot and waited but we didn't really think that we could get in, there was not that much space.
And indeed, we didn't fit but we stood outside for a while and could grab some drinks. We also were able to buy the album (for a fair price!) and to get some free posters.
We moved a couple of times to another window to have a better sight until suddenly some door opened. Me and my friends went faster than speed light and entered. WE WERE IN!
It was all fantastic. Small room, lovely people, an album release, drinks,... It felt perfect!
I really think their new album is very good. The songs are just awesome and the rhythm feels so natural. I was kind of impressed by the way they perform. So dedicated to their music.
At the end they played Then What (see previous blog post) which was a great but Blood Like Wine was even better. At the end everyone kept singing and it gave me goosebumps. Music is the key to peace, I'm sure about that. (You can find Blood Like Wine is on the previous album Applause.)
30 march will be the official day of release and I truly recommend you buying it. My album is playing now and I'm really enjoying the moment. For more information: http://www.balthazarband.be
We stayed for a while after the show and were able to let our albums sign by the band members. They were very cool and down to earth and some of them came to talk to us afterwards when most of the fans had gone.
This made me realize that it is a great characteristic to always stay true to who you are, no matter if you're getting famous.
Love these autographs!
Meeting the singer after the show
The best thing about these kind of concerts (except for the fact that they're free) is that it feels very personal. You can really get to know the band and how they like to play their songs.
In June I will watch Balthazar again at a big festival, but I'm sure it will never be the same as it was tonight. It was just perfect.
I love weekends. Even though I still need to work for school, there's a little less pressure on me and some time to do random stuff. Today I worked on this (very little) project, which has been on my mind lately: a swear jar!
I hate swearing, I really do. Especially at home, I think it's inappropriate. It breaks the peace that should be in your house. Ever since I was little, I've learned not to use such words, but over the years, our family composition has a bit changed. The new members at home use these f*ck-like words (sorry) from time to time and me no likey. My mom and I decided to do something about it, so this morning I grabbed and old jar and some paint: a swear jar was born.
I put a common saying in Dutch on it, hier vloekt men niet, which means something like 'no cursing in here'. Normally they put 'God sees me,' in front of it, but I decided not to 'cause I've lost my belief in God during some events in my life (and also because my jar wasn't that big).
Take a look at the result:
Each time someone swears in this house, they'll have to put one euro in the jar. As you can see, it isn't empty anymore: my stepfather and mister swear jar have met very soon.
Hopefully we can do something nice with this money after a while, we'll see about that!
Do you swear a lot?
And what do you think about the idea of using a swear jar at home?
Love
PS: Have you noticed the little (improvised) vase next to the jar? I was looking for a cool way to re-use some old perfume bottles and this is a quite nice solution, isn't it?
Sunny weather, lots of people in the park, children (read: children of all ages) eating ice cream, new fashion collections in the shops, the need to wear sunglasses again, fully crowded gyms ('cause of course bikini season is getting closer), flowers everywhere,...
Indeed, spring is here!
Hi readers
Today was a day that I realized that spring is back. Even though the wind still can be very cold, I see that the Sun is trying her best to come through. I saw happy children (yes of course, wednesday afternoon = no school = always fun) and when I walked at a square nearby, I saw a lot of students enjoying the weather.
It mostly confuses me a bit. I'm really happy that the dark days are finally over, but on the other hand I feel a bit down. I actually have a lot of classes to attend and tons of books to study and I just cannot find the time to enjoy it all fully.
I'm always trying to find the perfect combination between the two, but sometimes it is extremely hard.
Next weeks will be quite busy, which is exciting but also a bit stressful. Yes, I'm that kind of person that is stressed about a lot of things, without wanting to show others. I may seem 'chilled out' and I also force myself to be, but in fact I'm not at all.
I see that as my biggest goal to accomplish: not being so hard on myself and relaxing a bit more.
I will attend two proms, a 'cantus' (read: singing and drinking at once with great friends), a funny theater about our teachers, a reunion night at my old school, a Jägermeister competition (yes, you read it well), an album presentation of this awesome band Balthazar which you can check out below, a football game of the national team and in between go to my classes. Oh, and all in two weeks!
I think it is good for me to be this busy, maybe it keeps the bad thoughts away? :)
What a week! So much has been going on lately, a lot of chances and a lot of changes.
First of all, I cut my hair. It wasn't an ordinary visit to the hairdresser, since I decided to donate my hair to Think Pink. They cut off a ponytail of 26 cm, which can be used to make wigs for women with breast cancer. This was quite drastic, because I've always had long hair.
I love my new hair! Even though some people, including my boyfriend, still have to get used to it, I'm sure that I made the right choice.
Looks a bit scary, right?
A week ago I also received the grades of my january exams. I was a bit nervous, but I am so so happy now: I passed all my exams, yay! Above that, I even had a 20/20 which I still cannot believe.
At that moment I finally realized that I can do this, I'm going to be an engineer!!!
I also started singing again. A friend of mine came over to play soms music and then I remembered how much I need my guitar and singing. I'm definitely going to keep rehearsing and improving my skills and we'll see wherever it leads me!
Right now I really need some rest. Great parties and early lessons aren't a good combination, I figured out.. :)
