Bloodflood Pt. II

Hi!

This song represents my current mood pretty well.
I'm quite tired already, yesterday was fun, but I'm looking forward to this afternoon and evening and night and morning and...

Click on play, while I show you some pictures of my yesterday's walk with the cutest dog on earth: mine!

I live in the countryside, so when there is snow, I love to go walking in the fields behind my house. There is some sort of peace which really calms me down.

How cute is she? I really love my dog, this little monster is always there for me! She's already quite old, but I hope she will stay with me for a while.

Back on track

Hello there!

I'm sooo relieved. Yesterday I finished my last exam and now it's time to relax for one and a half week. I've planned a lot of exciting stuff to do and I cannot wait to meet with all my friends again. No isolation anymore, great!

To give you an idea, this is a bit what my week will look like:

DANCING

Finally I'll be able to meet up with my crew again. First a couple of rehearsals, but this Saturday we have a huge opportunity to show the world what we've got: we will be performing in front of more than 10.000 people!

The Antwerp Giants organise their 'Night Of The Giants' in the Sportpaleis and we will be filling the time outs with our hiphop dances! I'm super excited of course. This won't be our first time performing there, but the cheering of all the basketball fans definitely gives me chills.

BOYFRIEND QUALITY TIME

Tomorrow night I have a dinner date with my dear love. Last month, I wasn't able to give him the attention he deserves, because of the exams, but that will be fixed these days. I'm looking forward to seeing him again and telling each other our stories. Yay!

BUDAPEST

Tuesday is the big day: me and my friends will be up in the air, flying to the capital of Hungary.
I'm so thankful for the tips people gave me about what to visit there! Next days my biggest goal is to complete my scrapbook of Budapest, with in it all the awesome musea, parks, bars and restaurants.

Especially the thermal baths of SzĂ©chenyi are recommended by a lot of friends, I really want to try them!
They look fancy, right?

Have you ever been to Budapest? If so, do you have any useful tips?
I'd be very thankful if you shared them with me.

As you see, my week will be very dynamic but also extremely fun! I'm already enjoying every moment of rest and I'll keep you posted about my activities.

Btw: if my engineering career doesn't work out as hoped, I'm becoming a philosopher! Studying philosophy refreshes my thoughts and is actually something I love. Spoken of extreme contrasts...

I felt the urge to share this piece of artwork with you, it feels a bit like therapy. If you fully concentrate and think about nothing while listening to this beautiful song, you'll be drifting away. Try that!

I'm a huge fan of Vance Joy. His songs represent the way I'd like to feel in an incredibly precise way.

Enjoy!

Sein-zum-Tode

Blogging. Sounds like a dream to me, being able to write everything that's stuck in your head down and throw it on the world wide web.

I've been following all kinds of blogs ever since I had access to the internet and my admiration for these bloggers is extremely big. They use their voices to share their opinions and they mean something to all of their true readers. That's my biggest goal, sharing the lessons I've learned through life because I do think I can inspire people whenever they've lost their hope.

Then why now, why after all this time starting to blog? I honestly never felt good enough to do this and I actually still don't. It's not that I'm ashamed of this, but I don't feel 100% comfortable writing down my thoughts. I don't know what this experience will bring, but this can be a good way for me to express my feelings, which is always a good idea, right?

The one big reason for this all, can be described by the name of one single person: Heidegger. Yes indeed, Martin Heidegger, a German philosopher born in the 19th century. I'll explain why.
As a engineering student (yes, girls can also be good engineers, trust me) I have a lot of sciences, but our university also offers us philosophy as a standard course. To be honest, next to all the mathematical knowledge, I'm incredibly fascinated by philosophy and especially by what Heidegger stands for.

Sein-zum-Tode (or Being-toward-death) is the most inspiring idea I've read about in a long time. It tells us that the choices we make, reveal who we really are, just because we don't have an eternity left. We choose to do the things we love, because we aren't able to do everything we can think of. We know that death is coming at some point.

This is where I was reminded that right now is the moment to live and to choose for what I stand for. I am strong and I need to regain the trust in myself. I'm willing to try my very best to show the world that life hasn't knocked me down completely.

Step by step I'm getting back up, growing bigger and bigger, every single day. I miss you dad, you'd be proud of me.
